Anyone have a good clean version of this show (Late Show) - For some reason, I've never been able to find one.

Remember the show very fondly and would love to get a copy. Clearly Jerry had much more energy for this late show, especially set 2. Reuben to open the set!

Started to listen to the 82 acoustic stuff again after not hearing it for quite a while and just fell in love all over again. What a jones!

actually just thought of another story (I know the board likes stories-just not mine) from this tour(?) - I think The Tower Theatre (Upper Darby, PA - near Phil) was also a stop - sitting in the car behind the place (res district) b4 show partying. after a bit someone in the car says why is a big bus parked on a side street (it was a foot in front of us) like that - we ofcourse blew it off being clueless as we were. 1/2 hour later we get out to walk in and out of the bus nearly bumbing in to us is Jerry. It was classic.

Taper notes:
- Late show ended at 3:30 am.
- Robert Hunter opened up both shows.
- While attempting to tape RH I was busted. I was able to talk my way out of having my equipment taken and pulled off taping both shows.

Comments: Overall, sound quality on this recording is very good with excellent high end and bodacious lows. There are two main deficiencies. First, there is a moderate amount of intermittent loud and close up crowd noise (clapping, chatting, singing along) and PA feedback. In several potentially deafening instances , I superselectively attenuated the more extreme and disruptive outbursts using Soundforge 6 under maximum waveform magnification between -2 and -3 dB with zero crossings as boundaries. The second flaw with the seed is there is low level tape "noise" towards the end of the second set of the late show (Bird Song and a really smokin' Goodnight Irene unfortuately) with a regular periodicity to suggest it has something to with the tape mechanism. Barring these flaws, this show is ripe with awesome Jerry vocal nuggets that stop you dead in your tracks. Check out Jer @ 05:22 of Simple Twist of Fate (early show, d1t06) where he pulls off some amazing low almost growled "twyyyist uh fate". or 08:31-08:36 of the late show's Deep Elem. Jerry is still the man. Thank god for tapers.

not sure I've heard this one before...

the well known 82 acoustic set is Oregon State Prison 5-5-82...i believe there is a acoustic set from 04-11-1982 as well...

This was the tour with the Penn State show and the Avery Fischer Hall Show in NYC, but this was the only 2 show (Early show / late show) stop that year. All Garcia acoustic shows are somewhat repetitive but this show stood out for me. First show was OK, they empty the building and then let everyone back for the late show. First set was OK but after like 45-60 min. break, they come back and you can just hear it in his voice. Opens with Rueben and there is a sweet and very rare Garcia acoustic Peggy O in there. Would love to hear it again, 22 years later!

Set 1
Deep Elem Blues
Friend Of The Devil
Dire Wolf
When I Paint My Masterpiece
Jack-A-Roe
Run For The Roses

Set 2 (43 minutes)
Reuben And Cherise
Gomorrah
Peggy-O
Bird Song
Goodnight Irene
